There’s a free heart screening clinic open to students ages 12 to 19 who are not currently under the care of a cardiologist, Saturday, February 23rd from 9 to 3 at Selinsgrove Area High School, 500 N. Broad Street, Selinsgrove. All students will receive a free vitals check, murmur checks and electrocardiograms (EKG). For students whose results indicate the need for additional testing, electrocardiograms will also be provided on site, free of charge. Limited CPR/AED demonstrations will also be given. This event is sponsored by the Alyssa Dressler Foundation, which was established in 2018 in honor of Alyssa Dressler, a 14 year old from Selinsgrove who passed away in 2015 unexpectedly due to Sudden Cardiac Arrest. The foundation is offering this screening at no cost to students as a tool to possible early detection of heart related issues.
