Military Appreciation Month

Did you know May is national Military Appreciation Month? May was set aside, thanks to Sen John McCain to honor and recognize members of the US military.

So what does that mean for someone who did or isn’t serving? It’s as simple as saying thanks to someone you know serves or if you see them out in public in uniform, maybe buy their cup of coffee. If you have a neighbor who serves, even if they are M-day, surprise them and cut their grass on drill weekend. At the very least, put a flag out to show your support.

Today, Friday May 11th is Military Spouse Appreciation day. If you have a spouse who supported you trough your military career, even if you served a brief time, thank them. As a military spouse I can attest to the fact it is a thankless job, but I’m a stronger person for doing it. I have overcome obstacles I never thought I’d encounter.

Thank you to all who have served and continue to serve and thanks to the spouses who serve in their own capacity.
